I Won Something!!

I never win anything. Seriously, I don't even win at the little carnival or Boardwalk games. I just don't win. But like all others in the boat with me, we continue to enter sweepstakes and contests and have a small hope still that we may just have picked the winning numbers this time.

I must enter at least 5 sweepstakes or online contests a day, I know...LOSER!!! But someone has to win and why can't it be me? I fill out the surveys on my receipts too!! If you want me to watch a show every week and enter the "buzz word" online for a chance to win $50,000, you bet your butt, MY butt will be sitting on the couch watching and listening, iPad in hand. But with all the entering and all the hoping, I just don't win.

So, it was a huge surprise that I received an email not too long ago with the subject "Giveaway Winner". I almost even deleted it! I receive so many junk emails, I swear, if I get 50 a day that I simply delete, I'm not exaggerating. It is a task to manage my email account. But anyway, I kept the email in my email box for a few days without touching it. Finally one day I opened it.

I won necklace. Okay cool. I honestly didn't remember entering for a necklace, but okay. So, I followed the link to see what it looked like. I was floored. It was the cutest necklace and totally something that I would wear. I responded to the email with the personalization they asked for and didn't really expect to actually get a necklace. Well, because I just don't win!

I put it out of my mind and went about my business. Sometime later, I receive a package in the mail. IT WAS MY NECKLACE!!! It wasn't until I saw the return address did I remember where I entered for it. It was from Parenting.com's 101 Days of Giveaways. Each day, for 101 days, you enter to win a different prize everyday. Of course, I entered all 101 days. I didn't win the KitchenAid complete appliance set or the Dyson vacuum. I won a necklace and it has become a piece that I wear almost every day.

The holiday season is quickly approaching, so if you are looking for an original gift for a special (or difficult to shop for) woman on your list, consider checking out Lisa Leonard Designs. These necklaces can be customized and come in a little pouch. I was so impressed by the craftsmanship and presentation. Check them out, you'll be happy you did.

  1. I won a DVD and the DVDs soundtrack once. It was a romantic comedy but I don't remember which one. But hell, I WON! I so get this.

    1. Pam, it could have been a gumball machine toy, I didn't care, I won. But what makes it truly special is that it has now become one of my treasures. Sure, I would have baked the hell out of the Christmas cookies with the KitchenAid mixer, but this has meaning to me.
